EVENTS These are the activities other then pure gaming that will be happening at COMUNICON this year. Some are scheduled for certain times (see the schedule) and others will run throughout the weekend. Each is detailed below. Art Show & Auction: This is a chance for artists and art fans alike. Artists can display and even auction their works. Fans get to see a display of original SF/Fantasy works and bid on their favourite pieces. The silent auction ends at 3pm on Sunday. Buyers can pay for and pick up their art then. Artists can obtain the rules for the show and auction from Heather Fowler. Model Making: Local model maker Vaughn McPhail and other members of the Maritime Science Fiction Modelers will be building SF models from scratch and showing off their craft. Short short Story Contest: You have 26 hours to craft a VERY short story (under 200 words). Our panel of semi-literates, I mean experts will select a winner Sunday. Fan videos: Some people have way too much time on their hands! But we get to reap the benefit of our favourite SF shows and movies cut as music videos. Pundown: Are you armed for a battle of wits? Are you willing to bet on that? Toss $2 into the centre of the pot and take a seat in the Pun Circle of Doom. When you run out of puns, you're out of the circle. The money goes to the last one remaining.
